Innovative Programming Asosicates, Inc. (IPA) is a corporation organized in 1994 to provide
health services to children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities, severe emotional disturbances and/or
mental illness, and substance abuse problems. IPA is committed to developing an array of services designed to provide
opportunities to enhance emotional health and behavior control as well as increase the individual's level of functioning independently.
IPA is commited to providing those services which will preserve the integrity of the individual and their family unit while
enabling them to live productive lives. IPA assesses the needs of the individuals and families, offering a fleable service
system that will meet those needs. The commitment made in the unconditional and whatever services are deemed most appropriate
will be provided in the frequency, duration and intensity necessary to adequately address the individual's need.
IPA provides therapeutic and habilitative services such as: nursing care, psychiatric and psychological services,
supported employment and day treatment vocational services, physical and occupational therapy services, dietary and pharmacy
services, therapeutic recreation, community based supports. In collaboration with two sister companies, Human United
Giving Greater Services (HUGGS) and Peterkin and Associates, INC. (P&A), we presently serve approximately 156 individuals
with various mental health and substance abuse needs in Cumberland, Durham, Elizabeth City, and other surrounding counties
in North Carolina. Our agency also continuously responds to the tertiary care needs of consumers by providing residential
and mental health services in partnership with family members and other involved clinicians and by liaison and consultation
with health care providers, and community agencies.
We have developed and implemented several communites to include, but not limited to, the Community Focus Workshop, Consumer
and Family Advisory and the Human Rights Committees to help us get meaningful input from the community to guide our care
and service delivery. We are proud to offer a continuum of services to clients of the community-based programs, which
is based on the values of respect, client centered care and services, teamwork and continuous quality improvement.
